چکیده

As previous theoretical results recently revealed, a Kramers-Kronig transform of multiphoton absorption rates allows for a precise prediction on the dispersion of the nonlinear refractive index n2 in the near IR. It was shown that this method allows to reproduce recent experimental results on the importance of the higher-order Kerr effect. Extending these results, the current manuscript provides the dispersion of n2 for all noble gases in excellent agreement with reference data. It is furthermore established that the saturation and inversion of the nonlinear refractive index is highly dispersive with wavelength, which indicates the existence of different filamentation regimes. While shorter laser wavelengths favor the well-established plasma clamping regime, the influence of the higher-order Kerr effect dominates in the long wavelength regime.

Optical properties of silicon nano layers by using Kramers- Kronig method

Silicon thin layers are deposited on glass substrates with the thickness of 103 nm, 147 nm and 197 nm. The layers are produced with electron gun evaporation method under ultra-high vacuum condition. The optical Reectance and the Transmittance of produced layers were measured by using spectrophotometer. The optical functions such as, real and imaginary part of refractive index, real and imaginar...

Response Theory for Equilibrium and Non-Equilibrium Statistical Mechanics: Causality and Generalized Kramers-Kronig relations

Abstract We consider the general response theory recently proposed by Ruelle for describing the impact of small perturbations to the non-equilibrium steady states resulting from Axiom A dynamical systems. We show that the causality of the response functions entails the possibility of writing a set of Kramers-Kronig relations for the corresponding susceptibilities at all orders of nonlinearity. ...

Evidence of dispersion relations for the nonlinear response of the Lorenz 63 system

Abstract Along the lines of the nonlinear response theory developed by Ruelle, in a previous paper we have proved under rather general conditions that Kramers-Kronig dispersion relations and sum rules apply for a class of susceptibilities describing at any order of perturbation the response of Axiom A non equilibrium steady state systems to weak monochromatic forcings. We present here the first...

High field optical nonlinearity and the Kramers-Kronig relations.

The nonlinear optical response to high fields is absolutely measured for the noble gas atoms He, Ne, Ar, Kr, and Xe. We find that the response is quadratic in the laser field magnitude up to the ionization threshold of each gas. Its size and quadratic dependence are well predicted by a Kramers-Kronig analysis employing known ionization probabilities, and the results are consistent with calculat...

Multiply subtractive Kramers-Krönig relations for arbitrary-order harmonic generation susceptibilities

Kramers-Krönig (K-K) analysis of harmonic generation optical data is usually greatly limited by the technical inability to measure data over a wide spectral range. Data inversion for real and imaginary part of χ(nω;ω, ..., ω) can be more efficiently performed if the knowledge of one of the two parts of the susceptibility in a finite spectral range is supplemented with a single measurement of th...
